2022 update

It’s hard to believe our first post was nearly 10 years ago (see below for the ‘About’ we wrote then).

Since then, our family has doubled in size, and now our much loved yellow van has moved on to pastures new. Our activities these days look a bit different.

But this is still a blog about adventures – they just evolve over time…

Welcome. This is a blog about adventures: both those inherent in converting a van to a mobile base camp, and those in the mountains and wild places to which we hope the van will take us.

We bought our van in May 2013, after incubating the idea for a few months. Both the conversion and using the van enough to make it worthwhile are exciting (if daunting) projects, and more than enough to distract us from broken lasers and impending potential unemployment. Freedom of the hills, the UK, and ultimately the world, is our goal, but first we have some work to do in our driveway.

We hope you’ll join us in our adventures, whether it’s lending a hand with a spot of DIY, meeting us in the mountains, or simply visiting this blog occasionally to catch up and perhaps leave a comment.
