A surprisingly cold week in Tignes.
J got her ESF first star, starting parallel turns and going down a black for first and second time (in lessons).
C learnt to ski, moving out of the Piou Piou club and up chairlift, down some wonderful blues.
The adults spent the lesson times (just over 2 hours a day) wisely:
(re)exploring the resort pistes before quickly moving off piste for varied conditions: first hunting trees (hard to find) for low vis skiing, then hunting powder (easy, then increasingly hard) and avoiding crusts (except for lunchtime).
We also managed a couple tours out in the wilds, one that turned into an epic skinning session, and a quick up and down the Rochers de la Grande Balme that imposes above Val Claret.
In the afternoon we started to ski as a family, initially on the fun run and later progressing to a mogully red, and enforced participation in the very strict C ski school!
